McPherson County Food Bank

The McPherson County Food Bank was started by Father Grabner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in 1983. The first location was the “Little Red School” building located at Elm and Earl streets. The Food Bank organizes the collection of food donations and distribution to those in need. In addition to monetary contributions, gifts of foods that are non-perishable in cans, boxes or bags are accepted. Items that are most useful include canned fruits, canned meats, soups, cereals, canned vegetables, hamburger helper, and macaroni & cheese. Nonfood items include toilet tissue, paper towels, and disposable diapers. The Food Bank greatly appreciates the support it receives from the community.
